Gradwell Wines- James Gin Tasting

Sean Rowlands Gradwell Wines is thrilled to announce its exciting partnership with the renowned James Gin Company (James May Top Gear), bringing innovative twists to traditional gin. James Gin isn’t another tedious celebrity-endorsed gin brand. Some of the words not used in their marketing include: deconstructed, artisanal, mouthfeel, crafted, quaffable, curated, authentic, gutsy, drenched, piquant, succulent, aviation, and heritage. Their products are a unique blend of adventurous spirit, willful eccentricity, and commitment to quality. Together, we aim to deliver exceptional and unique gin experiences that delight and surprise our customers.below is a list of Gins that will be available to taste and purchase.JG•01 Asian Parsnip- Tasting Notes This is a spiced, warming gin combining the sweetness of parsnip with spices of the Far East and ginger and green cardamom to provide the lingering light sweet notes. Parsnips were used as a type of sugar before sugar cane started to appear. Often used to sweeten otherwise dull school menus, they have a nutty profile. James also wanted to include Asian spices, so I had to map out the profile of flavours to see what could pair well. This humble root vegetable loved by Romans, vilified at schools is now a key ingredient in this multi award-winning gin. Review “Aromatic with focused aromas of cardamom and pepper. Hot and spicy with a powerful, flavoursome finish. An accomplished, well-defined gin.” International Wines and Spirits Competition JudgesJG•02 Navy Strength- An American customer - Mick McGuirk wrote to us and said: “If you ever decide to release a Navy Strength edition of Asian Parsnip, the world of gin will never be the same”. So, obviously we had to do so - and it has. We were able to adjust the recipe slightly to deliver the same taste profile with the greater strength of alcohol. Mick’s Idea JG•02 Navy Strength Tasting Notes It costs more because we have to pay more duty on the alcohol - but you don’t need so much to fall overboard. Not that we’d advise that, obviously So, in essence, a stronger version of Asian Parsnip that costs more but has changed the world of gin forever. Apparently. Reviews “Great taste, strong and one of the best I have tasted” Dennis, UK Customer “Great flavour and plenty of oomph! Will be ordering more” Alan, US CustomerJG•03 American Mustard/Ramstud- To reward our loyal American customers we decided to create ‘The Spirit of America’ so that they wouldn’t have to drink gin promoted by a Canadian masquerading as an American. American Mustard (or ‘Ramstud’ in America because the authorities were worried you’d put it on your burger) is blended from fresh mustard seed and dill pickles as the perfect accompaniment to every traditional American fast food recipe. The Spirit of America JG•03 American Mustard/Ramstud Tasting Notes This is a savoury style gin that is both light and warming. The mustard is balanced by the gherkin and tomato provides a smoothness to the profile. It is pleasing on the palette and the mustard warmth will surprise a lot of people. Reviews “So stunningly good and has the most amazing aroma of any gin I have sampled” Ian, UK Customer “This is a very unusual gin but I was pleasantly surprised. Good job James!” Marc, US CustomerJG•04 Mystery Bottle- Shipping October 2023 Tasting Notes To comeJG•04 London Drizzle- We’ve combined beetroot with lovage, bay, orange, and ginger to create a gin with light notes alongside earthy tones that give an almost umami quality to the gin - and instantly invoke the majesty of our Sceptered Isle.Check out the slideshow below for more information on James GinJames Gin US Deck NO LD small.pptx
